Key Account Manager - US


Location: Negotiable.  


Reporting to the VP of Strategic Partner Management, the Key Account Manager acts as a business partner to our commercial customers in the US by maintaining long term relationships to maximize sales opportunities.

Duties may include the following:

Business Development 35%

  • Identify and work with other service providers such as, independent agronomic advisors, crop input dealers, equipment dealerships, OEM manufactures: to identify prospects, develop strategic alliances, create new markets, secure market access for Farmers Edge services.
  • Develop and coordinate relationships with Operations and Sales management responsibilities. This may include other support services, and management resources. In order to meet the channel partner objectives and partners' expectations.
  • Develop national, regional sales plans for Regional Sales Managers to execute upon.
  • Develop new markets in new regions.
  • Develop new markets with existing technology.


Key Account Management 35%

  • Be proactive to lead larger channel partners in the discovery process. Develop mutual performance objectives, sales targets and critical milestones associated with the channel partner relationship.
  • Ensure continual assessment and clarification of partner needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure channel partner compliance with agreement.
  • Assist and develop training, power point presentations for new channel partners.
  • Termination of representatives or referral contracts not meeting their obligations.


Internal Account Management 20%

  • Manage conflict with channel partners as need arises. Ongoing communication as to how to deal with conflict internally and externally.
  • Work with Business Account Manager and Regional Managers to ensure completion of legal documents are correct.
  • Establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.
  • Provide ongoing updates to legal documents and coordination with legal to accommodate clause changes if needed to complete channel partner requirements.
  • Provide training for internal operations and internal account management as needed.
  • Engage with Farmers Edge Product Managers as to recommend product or service enhancements to improve channel partner satisfaction and sales.
  • Ensure all agreements are sent to the correct Regional Administrator.
  • Liaise with Accounting to ensure correct and timely invoicing and commissions are paid out.


Marketing 5%

  • Engage with Marketing to develop programs and marketing material to meet the regional, or country marketing requirements that will need to be implemented in the newly developed region.
  • Engage with Marketing to develop marketing slide presentations for client meeting and sales presentations.


Personal Development 5%

  • Engage in personal professional development as opportunity presents.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that exemplify company core values.
  • Ensure completion of all necessary administrative functions, such as, expense account, sales reports, are completed in a timely manner.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, agribusiness, or related field.
  • 10+ years of channel sales experience handling business to business sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with business partners.
  • Highly motivated, driven and passionate about sales.
  • Able to work independently regularly, but committed to the national sales team objectives.
  • Travel required throughout the US.
