Software Project Manager

 

Location:  Winnipeg, MB/Lethbridge, AB/Calgary, AB

Reporting to the Business Process Manager, the Project Manager will manage planning, organization and delivery of Farmers Edge software projects. The role requires excellent communication skills and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. In general, the Project Manager has the responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time & within scope;
  • Working with Product in planning road maps, defining project scope, deliverables, priorities, timelines & resource allocation;
  • Planning and running Agile Scrum ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up (daily scrum), Sprint Review and Retrospective;
  • Assisting Product in backlog grooming/refinement sessions;
  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors & maintain relationships;
  • Reporting and escalating issues to management as needed;
  • Performing risk management reviews with Product, QA and Release Manager;
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation;
  • Assisting in Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews;
  • Working with the Business Analyst in readying Product Requirements for engineering teams;
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to track dependencies across related projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent;
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience;
  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle & models;
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies, with Demonstrated experience in a previous project;
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management;
  • Proficiency in project management software tools;
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira & Confluence;
  • Demonstrated experience with Mobile platform development a plus;
    • iOS and/or Android;
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently;
  • Demonstrate previous experience working with Product Owners and Product Requirements related to project scoping;
