Product Business Analyst

  

Location: Lethbridge, Alberta.

 

Reporting to the Head of Technical Product Management, the Product Business Analyst works at the cross section of Product and Software Development. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow their understanding of the Farmers Edge technology to the expert level.  This will include how customers utilize the products and how those products are developed.  This intimate knowledge will position the candidate for advancement into roles that directly influence Farmers Edge product strategy. 

 

Duties may include the following:

 

  • Working under the direction of the Product Owner, the Product Business Analyst will
    • Scope requirements and prepare Epic and User Stories to be utilized by the development team for implementing features in the technology;
    • Act as the lead source for product knowledge support for the development, product support, and technical writing teams;
    • Align the technical development roadmap with the product roadmap;
    • Analyze, document and validate business requirements from business users and the Product Management team; 
    • Interface between business and technical teams and translate technical and business requirements;
    • Collaborate with the Software Development team to facilitate the successful implementation of features and change requests including participation in sprint planning;
    • Work with the Technical Writing team to create training materials;
    • Assist the Quality Assurance team with testing products as required and prioritizing defects found for resolution.

                       

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Agriculture or related field;
  • 1-3 years of experience working with Software Development or Business Analysis (Senior role: 5+ years of experience);
  • Agile software development an asset;
  • Product management experience considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in agriculture preferred;
  • Strong organizational skills required;
  • Strong communication skills required, both written and verbal;
  • Attention to detail and problem solving abilities required.
