Hub Operations Manager


Location: Lincoln, NE


The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of their team in the execution of Farmers Edge Precision Solution packages to growers and partners.

Duties may include the following:

Financial and Operations Management

  • Oversee management of day to day hub operations including mapping, sampling, soil sample submission, scouting, seed inspection, and technical support for clients.
  • Ensure client invoicing is accurate and on time.
  • Monitor and provide effective guidance on regional expense decisions.
  • Proficient operation of Farmers Edge data management and zone mapping software (Precision Edge), and other software applications used to deliver service at Farmers Edge.
  • Review financial records such as profit and loss statements for all territories within the hub, and adjust strategy to insure financial goals are met
  • Ensure proper implementation of Farmers Edge policies and procedures to hub employees are met including expense reports, mileage reporting, vehicle records, time sheets, safety and incident reporting etc.
  • Enter and maintain accurate work progress within Farmers Edge workflow.
  • With assistance of service specialists, ensure set standards of quality work are met by hub personnel.
  • Safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of equipment in use, - including probes, trucks and ATVs.
  • Business travel required.

Human Resources Management

  • In conjunction with HR and VP, develop and implement employee recruiting plan for the Hub.
  • Responsible for interviewing, evaluation of skills, employment offers, contract creation, hiring, on-boarding including orientations and on the job training.
  • Responsible to ensure all hub employees are given routine performance monitoring, semi-annual appraisals, and yearly performance evaluations.
  • Ensure technical and personal training and professional development activities are being met for self and all employees within the Hub.
  • Ensure proper focus is dedicated towards safety. Support and enforce that all safety policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Participate in monthly Health and Safety committee meetings acting as management representative.


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a two-year diploma from a recognized agricultural college or bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in related work with emphasis in operational management.
  • Previous experience in the agriculture industry preferred.
