Customer Training Technical Writer

 

Location: Winnipeg Corporate Office, 25 Rothwell Road

 Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Customer Training Technical Writer is responsible for designing and creating online training content to provide support and learning articles to help customers use and understand our products.

Duties may include the following:

  • Create and maintain customer documentation for our products and services by utilizing a variety of methods including online support FAQ and instructional videos for company website and through various social media sites.
  • Write clear, simple content that speaks to customers in their own language.
  • Understand company product and client expectation to develop video strategies that help client's learning experience.
  • Apply instructional design principles and best practices to create digital products and suggest ways to improve content with formatting and visuals.
  • Continuously improve these products over the course of their development and the product life cycle.
  • Stay current in instructional design and user experience best practices and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

  • Post-secondary education in Technical Communication and/or Digital Media or Graphics Design
  • Experience designing and developing user learning materials or videos.
  • Experience in digital communications including website communications, video design and social media best practices.
  • Ability to understand video marketing techniques and methods with an eye for strategy and driving online audience engagement.
  • Understand the value of video content marketing.
  • Passion for enhancing the customer experience.
  • Ability to effectively tailor communication and style to differing audiences.
  • Ability to self manage and work independently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Agricultural knowledge considered an asset.
