Training Coordinator

 

Location: Winnipeg Corporate Office, 25 Rothwell Road

 

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Training Coordinator works with management to ensure the smooth and effective function of training events and special projects; as well as creating materials to support the training function within the Company.

 

Duties may include the following:

  • Schedules and coordinates training activities including scheduling, transportation, location, meals, materials and attendance to ensure it is handled in a cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and maintain the company's orientation program for new employees.
  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System including designing and developing e-learning.
  • Responsible for organizing, moderating and delivery of webinars across the organization.
  • Facilitate training programs internally and assist the Corporate Trainer with training development including conducting needs assessments to identify gaps and designing/preparing educational materials for stand alone use or as part of training programs.
  • Partners with stakeholders in identifying training needs and researches/recommends training and development programs and activities that are in-line with the overall needs.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the training calendar.
  • Responsible for researching and working with government agencies regarding training grants.
  • Assists with sourcing and recommending the selection of external training consultants.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs and prepare summary reports for evaluation of those programs.
  • Maintain and manage training equipment and facilities.
  • Must be able to handle a wide variety of administrative duties and project management tasks.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate environment including instructional design theory and implementation;
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and electronic training delivery tools (GoToWebinar, SmarterU, etc.);
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with strong attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Previous experience in the agriculture industry would also be considered an asset.
