Product Support Specialist

 

Location: Lethbridge, AB          

Reporting to the Product Support Manager, the Product Support Specialist will provide support for our grower and staff applications, while assisting with external testing and training activities.  The successful candidate will work at the intersection of product, software engineering, and operations to manage incoming issues from staff and growers, and provide testing and a feedback loop for our users.

 

Duties may include the following:

  • Act as 2nd line technical support, triaging incoming issues to the appropriate teams
  • Become a subject-matter expert on FarmCommand, Farmers Edge's farm management platform and related software projects
  • Collaborate with the product division, other software and hardware engineering teams, and operations
  • Transfer domain knowledge to internal QA/QC team and assist the evaluation and testing of bugs, features and UAT
  • Document processes and procedures as required
  • Act as backup to customer service, handling and triaging incoming issues to the appropriate teams
  • Coordinate software testing amongst field staff, augmented with training sessions for new features
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical certification is considered an asset
  • Agricultural experience preferred
  • Problem-solving skills to solve complex issues
  • Proficient use of mobile platforms (Android, iOS), desktop operating systems, web browsers
  • Ability to learn, understand and convey technical concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and listening skills
  • Customer support experience considered an asset
  • Understanding of QA/QC best practices considered an asset
  • Flexibility in working hours, at times available to field/coordinate weekend support needs. Some travel may be required.
